At 12:30 hours on Friday 5th of May 2012, the UNMIS Police Station at Team Site No. 2 received a phone call from the house owner Mr. Daniel Clark about a theft that took place at his house in Bhattrania Community in the heart of Katmaria City. Upon arrival, the team met the caller Mr. Daniel who stated that he had left his house in the morning for a medical checkup of his wife. He left the house in the care of two workers, Mr. Reneto and Mr. Xavier. Direct from the doctor's place, Mr. Daniel went to the office because it was late for him to come back home and go to the office. He left his sick wife at his sister's house on the way to the office. He thought that he would receive his wife when he returned from the office. Mr. Reneto and Xavier had gone to a hotel nearby for a meal at I 0:00 hrs. After the meals, they returned to the house. While entering the house, they found that the locks of all three rooms on the first floor were broken and the cabinet and drawers were all broken into pieces, leaving all materials dismantled, and the papers and lady bags were ripped to shreds. Upon seeing the disorder situation, they reported the incident to Mr. Daniel. Then, he immediately called the UNMIS Police Station and reported the incident. FOLLOW-UP REPORT# I
At 13:00 hours on Friday 5th of May 2012,
Police observed the house and found that the key of all three rooms on the first floor
of the two-storey building were broken and all files,
drawers and cabinets
in the sitting and bedrooms
were made apart with a pick which was
left lying on the bed. The glasses of
the drawers were broken into tiny
pieces. Altogether six ladies’ bags and three purses were checked, and money was taken
out and empty bags and purses were scattered around
the bedroom. A binocular, two sunglasses
and one CD player were lying open
at the left comer of the bed. It was also revealed that one pistol, a gold bracelet, two gold chains, and one Ericson
Mobile set were stolen from the
bedroom cabinet. Police took fingerprints from the drawers, TV cabinet
and made the incident report for legal purposes.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT #2
The people in the neighborhood remained unaware of
the incident. However, a nine-year old girl
named Mikasa residing next door to Mr. Clark was able to describe the suspects as if they were four young boys. She could not utter any word of help because she was
scared of the group of four boys. But she
was able to describe them physically. When she saw these four men vandalizing her neighbor's house,
she first thought
about calling 91 I for help. As she was only nine years old, she wanted to get her parents' permission. She went upstairs
to her mother's bedroom to tell her everything but by then she found that those four men had already
left the premises.
She said that the
boys were wearing
masks and carrying
small-sized sacks. A boy downstairs also claimed that his
jewels and money were taken away.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT #3
After the theft had been reported,
when Inspector Taho arrived at the scene with his investigation team, she
decided to further investigate Mr Clark about his two-house workers.
She thought that it was very suspicious for both the workers
working at the same house to go for lunch at the same time and the theft to be occurred
right then. But according to the house owner, he would not even doubt this
as they both were very loyal since they
joined. In addition to this, they had no connections with any other boys in that locality.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT #4
The police called
the house workers to the station for
a statement and the house
owner was requested to tell
them to provide the names of people whom he had doubt. Forensics came to the scene and lifted the
fingerprints and took photographs and all collected items including fingerprints and photos were transported to the forensic lab for examination. Preliminary investigation showed that the burglars used an iron rod to break the lock of the main door. The window of the down floor was broken,
hit by a stone. The stone with the mark of breaking
windowpane was recovered below the window.
Police started a special
investigation to find the burglars.
