During his statement, Mr.
Andrade also mentioned that after he fell down to the ground, the attackers
approached him and demanded that he gives them whatever amount of cash he had
on him or they would kill him. The victim was in shock and begged them to spare
his life. Given the circumstances, he gave them all the cash he had with him.
He estimated the sum was about 150 US Dollars and also some amount of Congolese
francs, but he was not sure about the exact quantity as he was under stress. The
gunshot sound alerted the neighbors who rushed to see what had happened. The
attackers panicked and ran off with the money. The victim added that he was
bleeding heavily and was shouting for help. At that point, one neighbor, Mr.
Qunicy Adams, who witnessed the shooting from his balcony overseeing the street,
was the first to arrive at the
scene. He called the police from his
cell phone and passed the location and name of the victim in addition to a
brief account of what had happened. The victim asked Mr. Adams to contact
MONUSCO Security Office as well. After around 10 minutes, MONUSCO security
